La diada de Sant Jordi" (Saint George's Day), is a Catalan festivity held on 23rd April, with similarities to Valantine's Day but with some unique twists that reflect the antiquity of the celebrations. The main event is the exchange between sweethearts, loved ones of books and roses. Men give women roses, and women give men a book to celebrate the occasion. There will be roses and books stands, "castellers" (human towers) and "sardanes" (popular Catalan dance) performances. All in Rambla Nova and Tarragona city centre.
